Using the earth to heat and cool your home in Chapel Hill, Cary, North Raleigh, Northwest Raleigh, NC, and the surrounding areas sounds like it would be complicated to set up, but when you work with Bolton Construction & Service, we make it easy. For decades, we have helped people with their HVAC systems, and geothermal heat pump systems make ideal HVAC solutions when you have the space to install them. We not only install new systems for existing homes and new construction, but we can also service and repair existing systems and provide replacement components as needed. With the constant temperature of the earth, you can get heating in the winter months and cooling in the summer months, all from the same system. Talk with us today about geothermal heating and find out if it’s right for you.
Geothermal works by circulating liquid in a large underground loop, and the heat pump pulls out air that is either warmer or cooler than your indoor air. This air gets circulated throughout your home to heat or cool your house as needed. This works because the ground remains at a constant temperature throughout the year. You will have a heat exchanger inside your home, and a loop of flexible pipe will be buried outside. Doing regular maintenance on the heat exchanger will ensure years of trouble-free use.
Having a dual fuel system in your home not only means you have a backup system ready to go, but also faster temperature recovery. Alternatively, you can use one or the other if a particular fuel source is more temporarily expensive. While you may have slightly higher repair bills because of having two systems, the benefits for your property could easily outweigh these extra expenses.
When it comes to all things heat pump related, from a single system to a dual fuel system, our HVAC team has worked with clients in Raleigh, Durham, Apex, Cary, Clayton, Youngsville, NC, and the surrounding areas for 100 years. We work with all brands of HVAC equipment for repairs and replacements, and also do new installations. At Bolton Construction & Service, our licensed and trained technicians are fully prepared to help you keep the heat and cool flowing in your home throughout the year with your heat pump system. We put our customers’ needs first, which is why we have been in business so long.
Yes, ground source heat pumps are much more efficient compared to other HVAC solutions for heating and cooling. They are also often simpler than other options because the heating and cooling source is the earth itself.
A heat pump system should last many years, as the components for the system are either indoors or buried underground. 20 years is very common for a heat pump system to last, and with proper maintenance and repairs, they can last longer.
No, a heat pump will work just fine by itself; however, many homeowners like the added convenience of having a regular furnace in addition to their heat pump to help bring the environment up to temperature faster than the heat pump can do by itself.
